Pediatric Scalpel

Ideaz joined forces with Covidien to develop an improved mechanical pediatric scalpel that surgeons could use with confidence and accuracy during critical prenatal and neonatal operations.

The scalpel design allows surgeons to easily toggle between forceps, blade, and cauterizing wire while operating the device with only one hand. Careful engineering, thoughtfully executed ergonomics, and implementation of Covidien’s distinct visual brand language resulted in an exceptional medical device.
